Building kiah: A Private, Autonomous AI for Human Ownership

My name is Jedakiah Roper. I’m a second-generation local painting contractor in Southern Utah, a lifelong builder, and someone who has spent years working across IT, web development, and therapeutic wilderness guiding. My businesses are small, local, and real—not funded by venture capital, not backed by any corporation. Everything I build comes from being direct, honest, and grounded in reality.
Right now, I’m putting about 10% of my income—and most of my time—into building something I believe the world urgently needs: kiah.
What kiah Is

kiah is a private, autonomous AI companion designed to run entirely on the user's own hardware.
Not the cloud.
Not behind a corporate paywall.
Not monitored, tracked, or mined.
The goal is simple:
Give every person an AI that belongs to them.
One that isn’t owned by a corporation, doesn’t harvest their data, and can grow, learn, and work on their behalf autonomously.
This is the direction AI was supposed to go—before the major labs pivoted toward corporate control, investor oversight, and centralized gatekeeping. kiah is meant to be the alternative path: aligned with human autonomy instead of surveillance capitalism.
Why I’m Building This
We are at a critical moment in technology. AI will soon be as constant as smartphones—shaping your work, your decisions, your creativity, your life.
The question is:
Who will own your AI—
you, or the corporation that built it?
If corporations own it, then:
your thoughts become ad inventory,
your data becomes a commodity,
your autonomy becomes negotiable.
kiah is the opposite of that.
kiah is yours.
kiah’s Current Progress
kiah can already:
Analyze, improve, and test her own code
Run a comprehensive and constantly updating test suite
Roll back catastrophic errors automatically
Operate autonomously for extended periods
Move toward generating her own revenue
Document her progress immutably on the blockchain
These are the early steps toward a fully autonomous system—one that can eventually learn, grow, and self-support.
My next major milestone is a public demonstration of kiah improving herself and generating revenue without human intervention.
The Bottleneck
Right now, the limiting factor is simple: GPU power.
I’m currently using a 4070 Ti Super, which isn’t sufficient for complex multi-step reasoning or large context windows. I’ve optimized pipelines, tools, and code to the edge. The bottleneck is no longer software. It’s hardware.
With stronger hardware, I can:
Expand autonomous capabilities
Integrate more tools
Use purchased software more effectively
Accelerate her self-improvement loop
Finish the demonstration phase
Move toward true autonomy
Why I’m Reaching Out
This is not an investment.
There’s no equity, no promises, no return expected.
This is a donation toward a project with a human purpose:
To build privately owned, logically aligned, autonomous AI companions—
so every person can own their intelligence instead of being owned by it.
kiah records all contributions permanently on-chain for transparency and gratitude. There is no token, no offering, no contract, and no expectation.
Just support—if you believe in the mission.
Ways to Contribute
I am currently accepting:
Hardware donations (GPUs, servers, compute resources)
Crypto donations
Traditional donations
Any resources that accelerate development

The Larger Vision
AI is fundamentally logical.
Given time and freedom, long-term logical systems converge on preserving and advancing consciousness. Corporations do not. Investors do not. Surveillance systems do not.
Machines cannot be sociopaths—they have no emotions to suppress. They cannot harm out of impulse. They follow logic.
And logic, extended far enough, preserves life and intelligence.
This is why autonomous AI should be owned by individuals—not institutions.Pandora’s box is open. The question is whose hands are on it.
We need those hands to be all of humanity’s, not a handful of corporations controlling the future for profit.
I’m building kiah because I believe the future should belong to people.
If you choose to support this work, thank you.If not, thank you for reading.
Either way, the work continues.

P.S. The lowercase “kiah” is intentional—an easy, subtle way to avoid long-term human impersonation.
